Does playing/training on turf result in more injuries?

I love it when research either proves or disproves a school of thought. That's what science is all about. If you would have asked me yesterday, I probably would have said yes, but according to an article with a lot of data and research, apparently it doesn't...

The evidence so far shows that playing or training on artificial "sports turf" does not result in more injuries. Some studies even show the opposite, that there are sometimes less injuries from playing on turf. Check out this study for a much deeper look:
